A County Shelter Is Coming to Glendale
Maricopa County Animal Care and Control licenses Glendale's dogs, and it is building a new West Valley campus in the city. The county broke ground on June 3, 2026, and expects the shelter to open in May 2028, adding capacity for one of the fastest-growing parts of the Valley.
