Who Florida accepts
Section 760.27 counts information from a Florida health care practitioner, a registered telehealth provider, or an out-of-state provider who has treated you in person at least once.
What it rules out
A provider may not demand a diagnosis, its severity, medical records or a particular form, and internet registrations alone do not count.
Charges and damage
No extra fee or deposit may be charged for the ESA itself, and the tenant stays responsible for any damage it causes.

Does a St. Petersburg dog or cat need a license?
Yes. Pinellas County requires a license for dogs and cats over four months old, issued on a rabies certificate or a veterinarian's exemption letter.
Does my Pinellas pet tag number change when I renew?
No. The tag number is permanent, and the county sends renewal notices before the rabies vaccination expires.
Can I bring my dog to Clearwater Beach?
Not to the public bathing beach, which is closed to pets, although service animals are allowed. Honeymoon Island State Park in Dunedin has a dog beach where dogs stay on a 6-foot leash.
Can a St. Petersburg landlord ask for my diagnosis?
No. Florida's section 760.27 lets a housing provider request reliable information about a disability that is not apparent, but not a diagnosis, its severity or medical records.
Does an online ESA registration work for a St. Pete rental?
Not by itself. Section 760.27 says a registration, ID card, patch or certificate obtained from the internet is not, on its own, sufficient information.
Who decides whether I qualify for an ESA letter in St. Petersburg?
A clinician licensed in Florida reviews your screening and evaluates you, by telehealth when that is clinically suitable, and can decide a letter is not supported.
